The Kimme Museum Institute

If you're looking for a fascinating tour of a local artist's home and work whilst in Tobago, then look no further than the Kimme Museum Institute. Set in the tranquil region of Mount Irvine, perhaps Tobago's most beautiful location, this place really feels special. It's exclusive too, as it's only open for four hours on a Sunday afternoon (though if you phone and request it to be opened at another time - you may just be in luck).
Decorated with larger than life colourful and dramatic statues and friezes, it's no wonder that many call this place 'magical'. Here you can admire sculptures (all made by Tobagan Luise Kimme herself) made from oak, cedar, lime, cypress and bronze: pretty incredible stuff for just TT $ 20 (£2). Unfortunately, you won't get to meet Kimme as she very sadly passed away in April 2013, but her spirit lives on in her work. Make sure you come and cherish it.
Opening Times:
Sunday: 10am - 2pm.
